First video post - well executed bluff

Posted under Blog, Poker Strategy on March 5

As promised, here is my first video post. I describe a hand I played a couple of days ago where I floated a TAG player in position over 3 streets, and took the pot off him on the river.  Comments and suggestions are welcome!

  1. Kings through Jacks? You are taking the piss, mate. No way he folds to that river bet with as big a hand as that. A big pair would check either the turn or river. He’s just firing bullets with air.

  2. Thanks for your comment, Temujin. I really don’t think he had air:

I can’t see a goodTAG firing 3 streets with air; he may fire the flop with air, possibly the turn but certainly not the river. Players at this level are rarely that aggressive. Furthermore, his bet on the river was small like a “stopper” bet. If he had wanted to fire a 3rd barrel bluff, he would have made the bet much larger.

Finally, the board wasn’t draw heavy - only the gutshot wheel draw on the turn. Hence, a board not conducive to a multi-street bluff.
