Full Tilt Poker is weak tight

Posted under Blog on April 6

I’ve been focusing my poker playing efforts the past few days on the Full Tilt full ring games. The kind folks on Full Tilt gave me a juicy bonus as I had not played on there for a while.

Anyway, I’ve been playing in the 50 BB min rooms (to avoid the short stackers), and you see a lot of multi-tabling regulars. However, the vast majority of these guys are playing weak-tight, fit or fold poker. This means there are less donks to pay you off with big hands. However, these weak-tighties are extremely predictable; most are not much more than set miners.

I’ve been exploiting these weak-tights by opening up my game in late position. I’ll often raise sooooted gappers, even with limpers. If I can get the flop heads up in position, I’ll continuation bet almost any flop, regardless of whether I hit. I’ve been surprised at just how often they will call my raises preflop then check-fold instantly to my C-bets.

Although it is a different kettle of fish to some of the looser European poker sites, it is quite refreshing: I know if I bet and get check raised I can bin top pair top kicker 99% of the time against these nits. Essentially you have to make money by taking down lots of small pots on the flop - my went to showdown is below 20% - very low for the microstakes. I suggest you get your ass over to Full Tilt today, and get exploiting!
